Brian M. Gallagher, Ph.D.
President & CEO

Dr. Gallagher comes to Magen with broad industry experience, most recently as Chairman and CEO of CollaGenex Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded dermatology, specialty pharmaceutical company. Prior to that, he was with Bristol-Myers Squibb where he held a number of executive positions, including President of Squibb Diagnostics. He also served with E.I. DuPont deNemours where he held several research, development, marketing, and management positions. Dr. Gallagher received his B.S. from St. Louis University and his Ph.D. from St. John’s University.

Radha Iyengar, Ph.D.,
Senior Director, Intellectual Property

Radha joined Magen from NitroMed, Inc., an emerging pharmaceutical company, where she was Senior Director, Intellectual Property and Technology Licensing. Prior to that, she was the Director of Research and Development at SunOpta Ingredients Group. She is a US Patent Agent and received her MSc in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Brown University.

Sandra Luikenhuis, Ph.D.,
Director of Corporate Development

Sandra joined Magen from Sirtris Pharmaceuticals where she was a consultant for Business Development. She attended Bonn University, Germany, and the University of New South Wales, Sydney, where she obtained a MSc. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from MIT.

Cyrus Mozayeni, M.D.
Director, Business Development

Cyrus joined Magen from Avera Pharmaceuticals, Inc., an emerging specialty pharmaceutical company.  At Avera he played a key role in building the company’s therapeutic pipeline through licensing transactions.  Prior to that, he was an Austin Fellow at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where he earned his MBA. He holds an M.D. from the University of Virginia, and a B.S. from Brown University.

William Selig , Ph.D.
Senior Director, Preclinical Development

Bill joined Magen from CombinatoRx, Inc. where he was Senior Director of Pharmacology and Toxicology.  Prior to that, he was a Senior Project Director at NitroMed.  With over 20 years experience in discovery pharmacology and preclinical development, he has successfully led project teams at various companies including, NitroMed, UCB, and Hoechst Marion Roussel.  He is the current President of the Inflammation Research Association.  He attended Indiana University where he obtained a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Physiology.

Stuart G. Levy , Ph.D.
Director, Chemistry

Stuart joined Magen from Elixir Pharmaceuticals, where he was Director, Pharmaceutics and Manufacturing.  Prior to that, he was a Senior Staff Scientist in Chemical R+D at EPIX Pharmaceuticals.  With over 12 years of experience in chemical process research and development at Elixir, EPIX, Ricerca and SUGEN, he has participated in and led projects in a variety of therapeutic areas (metabolic disease, cardiovascular diagnostics, oncology).  Dr. Levy obtained a BS in biochemistry and a PhD in chemistry from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and did postdoctoral research in the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
